Feline Vaccinations
Vaccinations for Cats at Carolina Cat Clinic
Ensuring your cat's health and well-being begins with preventive care, including vaccinations tailored to their specific needs. While some vaccines are recommended for both cats and dogs, Carolina Cat Clinic understands the unique requirements of feline health. Our expert veterinarians will guide you through the recommended vaccinations, considering factors such as your cat's age, breed, and lifestyle.
Protecting Against Feline-Specific Diseases
Carolina Cat Clinic prioritizes safeguarding your cat against feline-specific diseases with targeted vaccinations. Here are the key vaccinations we recommend:
- Panleukopenia: Kittens aged four weeks or older should receive vaccination against panleukopenia, a highly contagious viral disease.
- Calicivirus: To shield your cat against this respiratory disease, we suggest two or three injections starting at 8 weeks of age for kittens.
- Rhinotracheitis: This viral infection is preventable with vaccination starting at eight weeks of age. Boosters are required every 3-4 weeks until the cat reaches about 20 weeks old.
- Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV): Recommended for kittens or adult cats, especially those with outdoor exposure, to protect against this potentially fatal virus.
Guidance Tailored to Your Cat's Needs
At Carolina Cat Clinic, our veterinarians take a personalized approach to vaccination recommendations. We factor in your cat's individual circumstances, including age, breed, and lifestyle, to determine the most appropriate vaccination protocol.
